Legaspi Sunday Market | Passing Through the Weekend

Weekend Markets are starting to be a regular thing after almost two years of absence, and both Salcedo and Legaspi locations continue to invite more people not only within their respective areas but also from those who would want to make the trip outside the Makati CBD to see what’s unique about these places.

Generally, the events happen on Saturday (Salcedo) and Sundays (Legaspi), on top of that is a two-day event that happens on the first weekend of the month with the Makati Street Meet in Paseo de Roxas, where they closed off a section of that main road for that event that mostly parallels with those events only happening in the morning and past the lunch times.

Legaspi Sunday Market | The 2023 Weekend

When you’re looking forward to the weekend it was always going to random scheduled events happening within the area or making the trip to another city to have something of a different experience. But when you come to that age where you just want to spend the day nearby to see the grassroots and all that local culture to mingle with the community you have the weekend markets.

If you’re from or just outside Makati City the weekend markets has become a congregation either you’re with family in the mornings or having post-workout looking for some ‘home grown’ food, craft, and other local produce without going to the grocery this is the sort of place you visit, and the most popular is Legaspi Market.

Sunday Bazaar | Local Hobby Meet

02.19.2019 – In the Philippines there’s a rarity when you talk about weekend markets. Most of this gravitates to being held at open spaces like football field, local city parks or an empty parking lot. These mostly relates also to more about food sellers or farmers catering their hard earned organic fruits and vegetables. There is also merchandise being sold like clothes and little trinkets or souvenirs.

But an overall weekend market is not a regular thing if you reside in a city like Metro Manila. There’s not much open space or even greenery to be that ever sustainable to promote a community that would be ever supportive in a consistent basis to that. But there are other things weekend market in the Philippines doesn’t namely relate to the hobby like toys and collectibles.

Makati Street Meet | A Social Sunday

12.03.2018 – For the last five years the City of Makati organize these special Night Markets, which closes a section of Paseo de Roxas at the heart of Ayala Triangle Gardens. It has become part of the calendar season for the Business District which held whenever the ‘Ber Months’ signal the start of the Holiday Season. The usual ‘Makati Street Meet’ has the variety of foodies gather around for some good music.

This event continues to grow and has also become a weekend habit for most people living in the nearby area. For 2018 they have come up with themes that define each Night Market that is held every first Sunday of the month. This is much like some Sunday Market from another country. But with Filipino Festive vibe incorporated that makes it quite a unique experience.

Sunday Market | Grayish Weekend Sale

08.06.2018 – Every first Sunday Mornings in South Australia is something to look forward to with Sunday Market, a once-a-month offering seeing random sellers from fresh foodies to antique and random things you don’t often see in retail. It has become sort of a ritual to most that would go out in the field despite the weather it brings.

Personally, it’s a welcoming sight to see yard sales and random old things that you don’t normally see everyday. There are some eye catching things that are pretty much impressive to look at.

You don’t see this in an Asian country like the Philippines or any non-Western region to have such interesting things to see.

Sunday Market | The Summer Breeze

02.05.2018 – There’s nothing like an early morning stroll around the suburbs and ending up in the Marion Oval, where you can see the monthly Sunday Market happens. The weather was fine and dandy on a summer’s day and it was clear blue skies all the way. Rarely, you’ll ever experience this happening each month but it sure is a place to just see people and interact with them.

Each month’s Sunday Market brings something new to the eyes. But the usual theme is the fresh food and the antique finds that you’ll get a neat bargain if you got that interest for. Sunday’s the family gatherings but for today it’s a stroll to the market, and seeing some neat stuff is a sure dig through the tables and pathways that is also meeting up with new people around.

Sunday Market | Breezing Through Traffic

12.04.2017 – It was another Sunday Market at Marion, which happens every first Sunday of the month.

This was personally my second time to go here, but it was a quicker trip to go through the vendors and people who just want to clear their garage or shed.

Basically yesterday’s Sunday Market wraps up for 2017 with this gathering.

It was a gloomy morning and last time they held the event in the main soccer field, but for this month they have organized the event in a smaller venue selling their old stuff and there’s not much of interesting to look at although great to see new faces as Sunday Markets at Marion are not the usual sellers.

Festive 'Makati Block Party' Reigned

07.04.2016 – The rain kept pouring Sunday afternoon but it did not dampen its festive Makati Block Party that started at 4 PM. It surely was literally raining but the event was also reigning with people having the culinary street experience.

This is the first time they held it along the closed portion of Paseo de Roxas just beside Ayala Triangle Garden. From food, music, and activities for children everyone was on a festive mood even though heavy downpour has washed the city. It was definitely a place that you should have gone to but if didn’t here’s more…
