Sunday Market | The Summer Breeze

02.05.2018 – There’s nothing like an early morning stroll around the suburbs and ending up in the Marion Oval, where you can see the monthly Sunday Market happens. The weather was fine and dandy on a summer’s day and it was clear blue skies all the way. Rarely, you’ll ever experience this happening each month but it sure is a place to just see people and interact with them.

Each month’s Sunday Market brings something new to the eyes. But the usual theme is the fresh food and the antique finds that you’ll get a neat bargain if you got that interest for. Sunday’s the family gatherings but for today it’s a stroll to the market, and seeing some neat stuff is a sure dig through the tables and pathways that is also meeting up with new people around.

There’s not much tables to go around but it will surely take your time going through the people who are just selling their wares or some stuff that they need to clear them out of their shed. Some unique finds appears to be nostalgic like an old working Walkman or that colorful Nerf rifle that they want to part with because all the foam bullets has been lost from the casualties of childish wars.

You can find interesting things you don’t normally see in a Sunday Market. The organic herbs and fresh plants are waiting to be adopted. The common things that you can also find are the paintings, but the treasure there are the stuff that has been outdated like the 8mm camera that includes its leather case.

I’m a sucker for toys and they are interesting at the same time the price can’t be that attainable unless they are negotiable. The challenge is taking it home if you are someone with an enormous space you won’t mind that USS Enterprise-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation can be yours. But that enormous box won’t stop me there from taking it.

But if you’re not into big things or might have something of a gift idea to a friend or love ones how about some plush toys like Stewie Griffin from the Family Guy or that Kermit the Frog from Jim Henson’s Muppet Show? Surely, these guys may need a new home if you think they are a rare find to get. If those are not your think maybe a bunch of diecast cars like Hot Wheels or Matchbox can be found in this place. There are old and new ones that may be in your list of hard to finds that may be sold here.

The best part about Marion Sunday Market is getting to know people and their things. If you just looking for a chat this is probably the place. There are a lot of talented individuals who does things some may think it’s weird but for others it’s a masterpiece. Metal sculptures or paintings you got it here and they are fixtures of the weekend market culture. It’s not like any place I can go see the same thing all over again. Every Sunday Market is different and it’s interesting to see some of them are from time capsules of the past that they just want to part with it.

Marion Sunday Market happens every first Sunday of the month and they are already open at 7 AM as they close at noon. Catch all the happenings and here’s hoping you found what you’re looking for!
