Makati Street Meet | Weekend Return

Weekend Markets is what big cities need for most people to socialize and get to know the communities. Metro Manila has many cities and some might not even have that typical weekend markets, where homegrown products and services are not existent. But Makati is one such city that thrives to cultivate local products and other grassroots that makes society to be welcoming to everyone.

Makati has been a host to Saturday and Sunday Markets, but with the pop-up Makati Street Meets keeps the community active in getting everyone’s participation to be part of it through the foodies and gardening as well as continued interest what they’re promoting for that particular scheduled event.

The Makati Street Meets has been the usual pop-up community experience that have random sellers participating in this event. There’s no permanent fixture unless it’s a regular participant that sell their goods. In the past two years the event has not been as active compared to the Salcedo and Legaspi Markets held on Saturday and Sundays.

This return of the Makati Street Meet has been building up for its return since the pandemic, and it has been quite the crowd this Saturday. There’s a chance this will be a regular fixture again at its venue that taken over one side of the Paseo de Roxas.

There are foodies and there is also something for a random walk-in to see like this is Pop Record store or Brwn Skin a Filipino-made original shoe manufacturer promoting some of their wares you don’t see in the usual weekend markets. Food Trucks are also ever present on this event to provide some interesting gastronomic meals.

In case you missed out Saturday, this Sunday might the best for you to check out the long Paseo de Roxas Street. But if you’re going to miss it here are some images…
