Cove Civic Centre | Marion Libraries

07.02.2018 – Libraries are essential to every community and in South Australia every suburb has it. In the City of Marion, there are three libraries that support this endeavor of learning and reading for children as well as adults too. I spent most the time at the Marion Library located at the back of Westfield Marion just opposite Bunnings Warehouse since its close where I reside. But never have the chance to explore the other three libraries not until yesterday when a friend offered to drive up to Hallett Cove to accompany him to assisting in search for car parts. Of course, I had to oblige to save up taking Adelaide Metro on a Saturday morning. It was also good timing to visit another friend who organized a photography workshop as the Cove Civic Centre that day too.

06.12.2018 – When you live in another country and explore their culture you think it’s more about them than the rest of the world. Today, if you are from the Philippines and residing overseas you would probably won’t notice about celebrating Philippine Independence Day that was 120 years ago to this day from 1898. But majority of OFW would find the time to honor this day. Though whenever you can most would still find it to share their respect for their home country. 05.04.2018 – Another weekend is about to wrap up, and it was quite the busiest as the weather slowly get cold while still an autumn season. Before you know it, A LOT has happened these past few days that you can’t get to be part of. There are many events happening this weekend and you can’t be all over the place despite they’re within that time is of the essence that you have to make it count. Friday is here, and the early mornings are always a hustle getting from one bus stop to the other to get to the other side passing through downtown. For some, this is crazy comminute though not taking things for granted that it is basically smoother compared to other developing countries that have to deal with excruciating ordeal every day.

01.28.2018 – The Long Weekends became just a blur now with so many things happening all at once. The summer break wasn’t that intense if you want to know how the extreme weather factors in compared to last year. There’s so many things to express how things now going on probably a third year living overseas. I’m already way too familiar with the end of Friday as considered ‘Australia Day’ since the first visit as a tourist in 2013, and I used to work in a BPO company almost a decade ago that handled an Australian company that I never expected ending here physically was possible. The culture and currents events opened a perspective too.

12.11.2017 – How a year would be different from what I’ve gotten used to from the one I’m experiencing in the past years. The last time I travelled to South Australia was a two-week Holiday trip in 2014 and 2015. But last year was different the stay was longer and it was unexpected that things would eventually change. Things has have been a welcoming perspective at the same time challenging that few think is basking in the sun on a foreign country.

12.02.2017 – Yesterday’s Christmas lighting at the Victoria Square was packed with a huge turn out for the festivities, which officially starts the holiday season. Though I only made it towards the tail end of the event it was quite a sight since I’ve been into these events every year back in Manila. For Adelaide this was one of the highlighted events towards Christmas. The pageant last week was a sign that spring has ended and welcomes the Summer Holidays, while the lighting of the digitally powered tree was the beginning of Christmas.

Royal Adelaide Show | The Biggest Fest of the Year

09.10.2017 – The weekend was busy for some, and trying to recuperate from the past week of travel in and out of the city towards the tail end of the winter is very new for someone who is used to the tropical weather. You can feel the changing season when the weather is having a weird one, having cold weather, and then the next day it is hot. But yesterday was just another one of those highlights if you have been living in this part of Australia. The Royal Adelaide Show is 177 years old, which is a carnival and agricultural show, where you see livestock, farming, and rides for everyone. I wasn’t able to experience it last year, since I only arrived here last December. I’ve heard of it in the past, thanks to my niece’s ranting about that event.

01.17.2017 – The summer is at all-time high now in South Australia and the best place to go is the beach to soak up the sun, sea and the white sand beaches. This is also the opportunity to do some fishing and you can never go wrong about the season. For someone who used to experience the summer season between March to May this is sort of welcoming even though I’ve been in this place for several times. There’s nothing like appreciating the end of another day with a golden sunset don’t you think?
