TAFE SA Hair & Beauty | Cheap Cuts

02.28.2018 – If you’re a student in South Australia taking up International course chances are you may be tight with the budget. Usually, for Internationals there’s a challenge for saving up as daily expenses around the City of Adelaide which also have its preference. But sometimes being a student has its own advantages that keep things interesting in this state territory part of Australia.

For those who have plans to take up a course which leads you to a pathway as part of a lifelong experience to establish and grow your career it is also here you’ll find some of the courses that in-demand at TAFE South Australia. Namely, Hair & Beauty which if you don't believe has a demand in Adelaide seeing how hair salons have started expanding around this part of the region.

Of course, there are other skills that are in demand that might be more interesting as any other course that is catered to what Australia needs in their regional territories, but Hair & Beauty is a bit overlooked or underrated as there’s A LOT of job openings related to this course. It sure takes a lot of patience and time but if you look forward to taking this course it would quite benefit for your end.

But for Internationals who haven’t found their niche or pathway that may bring them to this part of Australia, Hair & Beauty is one of those skills that might be for you. I’ve been taking a different course unrelated to this one, but I found the benefit of visiting this part of TAFE SA’s City Campus since a regular haircut in Adelaide is not that cheap. The last time I had hair done was at a nearby Korean Hair Salon beside Hungry Jack’s at the corner of Rundle Street and York Street.

If you’re a student at TAFE SA this was an unknown benefit for those who would save up their lunch money for a trim at a local barbershop. The Hair & Beauty area inside TAFE SA provides a cheap alternative to have your hair done by the students. If you’re not so specific and being just practical about getting your hair done this might be the place for as low as $6.00 AUD ($4.28 USD | ₱222.10 Pesos **) or sometimes FREE depends on the demand for the students having their practical exam that day.

Usually, they charge you with the minimum if you want your haircut done, but often when they need “guinea pig” for the students taking their major practical exam for their off-jobs. There was one of those days I’ve been keen on going to the City Campus since I had errands too and this was cake walk going in when a young block at the door immediately invited me as he knows I may need a trim.

His name is Alex and I was probably at the right time in a good place to get my hair done. When I got inside the main area where the students are doing their best for their clients I had probably felt like being in a microscope than Alex himself. The young bloke didn’t show any nerves and he showed confidence like a professional about what I want to be done. At the same time, he was accommodating and showed interest in his client.

There were two lecturers looking at Alex while he cut my hair and for someone not yet in his 20s he showed maturity like a long time stylist. Personally, I was satisfied how things were done and I was not expecting this to be FREE but it was and thankful for the right timing. Surely, I’d want him to be a regular barber if I had another chance to get my hair done at TAFE again.

The training they get at TAFE certainly shows why these students have the potential for success with the facility itself had to offer complete reign on the use of the area. For those aspiring to take the chance to move to another country and experience this type of life and you know that this might be the right course for you TAFE is offering it with details HERE.

For International students all you need the basic requirements like your IELTS test course and other paperwork. The details are provided in that link and if you’re not sure about enrolling by yourself you may need an agent to assist you with all that. Overall greatly appreciate Alex for getting my haircut and to other students at TAFE, this might be the best option for you to get your hair done.

Alex is not only good with his chosen profession you can follow him on his social media on Instagram and his adventures on YouTube when you can!
