Star Trek | Beyond Being Just A Trekkie.

07.20.2016 – The first Star Trek episode which I can no longer recall its particular title is one of the memories from my childhood. I do remember it was shown on the former RPN 9 on a Saturday afternoon a syndicated episode of The Original Series.

The Next Generation was a time I casually see on Friday nights on the same channel in the early 1990s before going to bed. But Star Trek: Voyager sealed the deal for me when it was shown on Hallmark Channel Asia in 2001, which I became a full time on Trekkie.

SPOILER ALERT! 34 Minutes of Into Darkness!

04.24.2013 – It’s been a while since I had my Star Trek fix and obviously I’ve been a casual Trekkie since I was talking about it back in 2009 after acquiring some geek merchandise. Rarely I’d talk about it here but after seeing 34 minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness you’ll know how giddy I feel about this film.

The preview was originally screened some two months ago to the press media and currently the actors and production crew are making their rounds promoting the film via the red carpet premieres all over the world.

Toy Photography: A Productive Inspiration!

10.02.2011 - How do you give a good impression? There are a lot of ways to be inspired and sometimes I top myself in one category I truly enjoy.

Toy Photography is one of the areas where I don’t compete with anyone but myself alone.

In my own little way of getting myself doing something out of the ordinary it makes me slow down for a bit and admire the view. Currently a few people already had their “thumbs up” on the subject.

I love Toy Photography that I don’t mind seeing myself competing. I look at it now as an art form rather than boasting on how topping the others.

DVD Editions: Star Trek in Ten Movies

05.07.2009 - Last Sunday before seeing X-Men Origins: Wolverine ten minutes to screening time I passed by a nearby music store selling lowered priced DVD movies. One thing that caught my attention was the two volume box set of all of the ten Star Trek feature film from 1979's The Motion Picture up to 2002's Nemesis.

For PhP 1,500.00 pesos a volume containing five movies its a bargain divided to PhP 300.00 pesos per DVD. Of course you can't buy it individually. Its a set they couldn't break that you should want to see.

Now less than twenty four hours before the eleventh movie to kick in. This is one goody a Trekkie should not be missed in acquiring.

To Boldy Go... Again.

05.05.2009 - A few minutes earlier at the IMAX premier of Star Trek the eleventh feature film this time directed and produced by J.J. Abrams has really caught up with the local fandom in the Philippines.

Reinvigorating the forty year old franchise to a new generation of would-be Trekkies and non-fans alike. Everything was new again with a different perspective. Though there's no spoilers here all I can say is see it to believe that everything is new again. All polished and ready for warp speed. Star Trek is back this time set to make believers and doubters open your minds to a brand new revolution.

Set prior to The Original Series show, which aired from 1966 to 1969 lasting 79 episodes in three seasons is like a time warp magnified for the modern times. A whole new perspective much closer to our vision of the future.

This new movie tells us how James T. Kirk came to be the legend we have known throughout the Star Trek Universe. When Spock became the first Vulcan to become the first non-human Starfleet officer. Seeing "Bones" McCoy, Montgomery Scott, Nyota Uhura, Pavel Chekov, and Hikaru Sulu in action against a threat that will put them to the test.

All I can say is this is one thrill ride after another. The next thing you know things started the way Star Trek came to be just like back in the 60s. You gotta love the special effects, and of course an appearance from a familiar face.

This movie will be one of the hottest blockbuster flicks of 2009. No doubt about it and I encourage you to see it.

Special thanks to Yehey.Com for the exclusive preview.

Star Trek will be shown on May 8, 2009 in theaters everywhere. Don't miss it!

Red Shirt.

05.04.2009 - Every fan would love to see another great Star Trek Movie. Every Trekkie would slip in naturally in there respective uniforms and proudly say "Live Long And Prosper" with a Vulcan hand salute.

Non-fans would hate it or laugh about it. There are casual fans would be envious to see one in uniform. There are others who would know the difference between a Vulcan from a Klingon. Or a science officer in teal from a red shirt officer, who gets to be the casualty in every episode they go on an away mission.

And there's me in that Red Shirt who won't even care. Even if the uniform is straight from The Original Series. Being Trekkie is not a casualty, but is a gift even though I'm the only fan had worn the uniform like a normal clothing at work.

Can someone step up and wear it for real?

Its a dare but I wont mind to care.

But on the eve of seeing the 11th feature film its worth being proud in it. Though things have changed. For that matter others would be in the same clothing.

Since I'm no longer part of that it might be a change of heart.

Let's see what happens next.
