05.23.012 –Bausch + Lomb globally known for its eye health company had recently hosted a special lunch for selected media from print and online. They announced that they are marketing their products directly now that they have put up an office in the country. This continuous their geographic expansion as announced during the scrumptious meal at the Enderun 101 Restaurant. The event was presented by Dr. Joel Javier, Bausch + Lomb Philippines’ newly appointed country manager, outlined the company’s plans for bringing its extensive portfolio of eye health products to Filipino Doctors and the patients who need them.

05.22.2012 – Ernie Chan who recently passed away due to pancreatic cancer last May 16, 2012 will always be remembered by his family, friends, and fans as a jolly individual who has been consistent with his appearances in the US comic conventions. He’s been known for his works on Conan The Barbarian, Batman, Dr. Strange and many more. A good friend who’s based in the San Francisco Bay Area has been a follower of Ernie Chan and the other Filipino contingent of artists who has made their names known when they first broke into the international scene. Ernie Chan’s remains where brought to St. Lawrence O’Toole Parish a mass was conducted. We got a hold of a copy of the leaflet that was distributed during the last day prior to Ernie Chan’s cremation.

American Chopper: Senior VS Junior Season 3 Asian Premiere!

05.17.2012 – American Chopper: Senior VS. Junior returns for its third season with “Winners and Losers” tonight on Discovery Channel Asia. This episode kicks during the aftermath of the three way bike build-off between Paul Jr. Designs, Orange County Chopper and the controversial Jessie James. In the US the latest episode that was recently shown was episode 13 “Change of Heart” Part 1 where things could change between the relationship with father and son. But the Asian premiere of the series is world’s away and its a definitely treat for Philippine viewers to catch the first episode of season three.

Comic Odyssey x Fully Booked: The Team Up of a Lifetime!

05.16.2012 – Last night dropped by and checked out the newest branch of Comic Odyssey at the fourth level of the flagship store of Fully Booked at the Bonifacio High Street in Taguig. The last time we first saw the shop taking shape was last Saturday and it was just an empty space getting cleaned. A few days later early last night before heading back home we passed by to take a glimpse on the development of the store. Indeed Comic Odyssey will be a bit busy this Saturday as they open up their fourth branch in fifteen years of its existence in the country since it opened its doors back in 1997.

Comic Odyssey: Through The Years.

05.13.2012 – Comic Odyssey has live up to its name giving us a wide variety of back issues that we can’t find in other comic shops in the Philippines. The store is originally based in Pasadena and San Diego California in USA. The first shop opened back in 1989 and it had a rocky start prior to its opening since an earthquake destroyed it. But since the store was insured Comic Odyssey got back on its feet and opened up. Sandy Sansolis the owner and proprietor shared the store’s history. The original store that opened in the Philippines was located at the former Market Place in Madaluyong City in 1997 and then moved to Robinsons Place Ermita.

Tony DeZuniga Remembered (1932-2012).

05.12.2012 – Tony DeZuniga passed away in the morning or May 11, 2012 at 1:30AM based on Sandy Sansolis’ announcement post at the Comic Odyssey’s Facebook Group Page. Mang Tony as fondly be called by everyone is the first Filipino to break into the international Comics industry. DeZuniga pave the way to other aspiring artists to make it in their own in this field. He co-created some of the dark and interesting characters for DC Comics. He is most popularly known for his creation of the western anti-hero in Jonah Hex with John Albano (who passed away in May 2005).

The film was shown on March 9, 2012 in United Kingdom while it debut on April 27, 2012 in North America. Acclaimed actor John Cusack portrays Edgar Allan Poe, one of literature's most fascinating authors, in Intrepid Pictures' new stylish, gothic thriller “The Raven.” The film will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3 and Trinoma) starting May 23, 2012. The synopsis gives the story when a madman begins committing horrific murders inspired by Poe’s darkest works, a young Baltimore detective (Luke Evans) joins forces with Poe in a quest to get inside the killer’s mind in order to stop him from making every one of Poe’s brutal stories a blood chilling reality. A deadly game of cat and mouse ensues, which escalates when Poe’s love (Alice Eve) becomes the next target.

Maui Taylor teaser in The Taste of Money!

05.07.2012 – The Taste of Money is a Korean film that’s getting a buzz lately. In the Philippines nobody would pay attention if there anything related interest until Maui Taylor was interviewed a few days ago about her part of this film. The synopsis is about a story which deals with the world of Korean conglomerates known as "Chaebul" families and their desires, love, hatred, sex and murder. Filming began on October 26, 2011 and finished on January 22, 2012. Shooting took place in South Korea and the Philippines.
