Minifigure Add-On | Crazy Armed Archer

The Minifigure by LEGO® is the most popular silhouette or character in the history of the brand since being introduced in 1979, and widely one of the most popular figures being photographed as the subject for Toy Photography in the hobby community as part of everyone’s narrative through the images they share on social media and other platforms that engage interest.

But the LEGO® Minifigure is limited by its movement, and yet the contours and design of the figure are likable for its appearance. With its popularity, there are customizers and third-party designers that would add something unique to their take on the Minifigure design that keeps them relevant and interesting.

Crazy Bricks is one of those customizers who have slowly become popular for their crowdfunding engagement, and even more so during the pandemic when everyone has been stuck indoors or in their homes. The idea of adding some interesting parts for your minifigure is unique not to take away or disrespect how LEGO® designed and created the Minifigure

They are only adding something that limits the Minifigures from doing something that only an animated version of it can do, and that is arming them giving something of a ‘new look’ for a toy that has been around for more than four decades.

Crazy Arms

Back in December 2022, a friend came to the Philippines for a visit, and with him is a shoebox full of neat stuff from another good friend based also in Melbourne. Inside the box are random unexpected things that include Crazy Bricks exclusive non- LEGO® figures, namely the dinosaurs that were packed in.

At first, I thought the Pterodactyl comes with extra straight and folded arms. When I was looking at it turns out they’re not part of that dinosaur. But it was an add-on as explained in the card included in the bagged parts that would turn out to be the Crazy Arms for an archer to make that kind of action pose.

Bits and Pieces

Those plastic pieces are unrecognized if you don’t pay attention to their use, and obviously, I wasn’t even noticing it until I realized what the parts are for. It was kind of another surprise since I and a friend did a video call back in late December 2022 to unbox the contents that he never mentioned the specific pieces.

The assembly is fairly simple, you just need to be delicate not to lose the tinier plastic pieces that slot into the minifigure’s stud-type connecting piece that has small holes in them. It was straightforward what their use would become once you insert them properly as they are the peg holes for the folded right arm and left straight arm.

Stunning Action Pose

Once you put things together it makes the minifigure action pose by adding the Bow and Arrow accessory. Unfortunately, it did not come with the one that Crazy Bricks have when you purchase the add-on. Based on my conversation with that good friend of mine who sent the care package it did not come with the bow/arrow accessory. But it also works with the LEGO® Bow & Arrow accessory piece.

An overall photographic fun shot when you delved into making a Minifigure do this limited pose thanks to Crazy Bricks. It was quite remarkable to make a Minifigure appear that he/she is aiming at the target with that folded right arm and straight left action pose.
