| 09.18.2013 – Carrie a classic horror drama film from 1976 which originally stars Sissy Spacek as Carrie White was announced to be made a remake in 2011.
It was in development for quite some time and definitely one of Stephen King’s novels to be made into film and television. The original film was directed by Brian De Palma which became a box office success and critically acclaimed. The film was spawned with a sequel in 1999 without De Palma’s involvement. But after almost 37 years the film gets a remake that will be shown in 2013. |
This time around the remake will star Chloe Grace Moretz as Carry White best known for her roles in Dark Shadows, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Kick-Ass 2.
Currently the film is now in post-production and Columbia Pictures has just released online a video featurette for its upcoming suspense-thriller, “Carrie” based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King and starring Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore.
“Carrie” is a reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Moore). The teenaged girl unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.
Directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, “Carrie” also stars Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde and Ansel Elgort.
Opening across the Philippines in October 16, 2013, “Carrie” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.
