HW Screen Time | Snoopy

Snoopy is an iconic character that appeared in comics strips, which was created by Charles M. Schulz. His appearance was the main focus of the story for the Peanuts gang, they are consists of kids that populate their individual stories, adventures, and everyday life that relate to people. For 75 years, the Peanuts have continued to be relevant to this day, and they are being celebrated all year round in 2025.

But at the heart of the comics strip is Charlie Brown, the ol’ blockhead, and his pet beagle, Snoopy, and sidekick Woodstock. There have been many merchandise produced in their image over the course of the comic strip’s existence, appearing also in various media that include animation and video games.

Hot Wheels has officially produced a licensed car that features Snoopy as the main character depicted in his “Flying Ace” persona on top of his Red House that is heavily modified for drag racing with a large engine block on the front of his house with exhaust sticking out on the side, and it features a wheelie bar with a parachute in the rear. It has a green base replicating the colour of the grass.

It was first introduced in 2014, and for the third year, Hot Wheels had slightly retooled the casting with a wider roof line and a more secure Snoopy as compared to the debut year with a narrower roof line that was kept to be produced for the premium range that had added paint details on the grill, as well as sporting rubber tires.

Seventy-five Years of Peanuts

For 2025, there is no difference from its last release in 2023, other than using a different set of wheels. It’s one of the rare castings that retain the same colour as it was released with an upgraded tooling from 2016. There have been several releases moving forward with the same colour scheme, but still having different wheel types.

To celebrate the 75 years of Peanuts, Hot Wheels brought this casting for the 2025 mainline as part of the HW Screen Time sub-series, with the premium Pop Culture Entertainment range bringing back the original casting from 2014 with rubber tyres and added paint application of the engine grill that is absent on the mainline.

National Dog Day Beagle

Despite the minor changes to the set of wheel types used for every mainline release, Snoopy looks to be the favourite among the Screen Time vehicles for 2025, as it is one of the sought-after “fantasy cars” with a rich pop culture heritage. Personally, I’m no dog person, but today is National Dog Day, and Snoopy represents the type of dog that everyone wishes to have as their companion and best friend.

It’s one of the odd ones Hot Wheels produced that appeals to everyone for its popularity; at the same time, it invites non-die-cast collectors to get on all the “fun” for the character’s playful personality, which is why this Snoopy car is challenging to find on the pegs like most pop culture characters and vehicles out there.

Overall, the Snoopy car is unique for its type of representation of the character that is not found in the comic strip or other various media. But it gives a refreshing concept of how he would depict driving a Hot Wheels car, which is actually his souped-up red house with a large engine block with exhausts on the side sticking out.

At the same time, seeing his determination on Snoopy’s face that makes the car is already pressing on the gas pedal, heading for extreme velocities as his ears flap to the gust of wind, ready to take off like a plane, though not for the skies. But on the rough road ahead

"Snoopy" was released under the subline for HW Screen Time and was acquired at Shopwise during its discounted promo. Hot Wheels is distributed in the Philippines by Richwell/Richprime.
