02.02.2013 – Before going up the bed just caught Sleepless in Seattle on Fox Family Movies. The film 1993 stars Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan directed by Nora Ephron. It’s one of the best known romantic comedies of all time and it depicts the Emerald city of Seattle.
Personally I don’t know how many times I’ve seen Sleepless in Seattle on Cable TV that was actually inspired by the 1957 film “An Affair to Remember” which stars Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. Sleepless is a timeless classic having four various awards in its time. |
You can get mushy all over or feel like a stone for all its romantic intricacies as we relate our life in these kinds of films. This is the second time Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan teamed up as previously was Joe Versus the Volcano that was a box office flop but gained a cult following due to the pairing of these two actors.
Sleepless in Seattle is a story about an architect who loses his wife from cancer who still grieving while his son convinces him to talk about on the radio show where a lot of women was touched about his story and one of them was Annie Reed.
Most of the film’s characters talks about the movie “An Affair to Remember” that was heart breaking because the climactic scene in the Empire State Building between Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr did not happen as the polar opposite of for this film which ended on a high note. The film relates to long distances relationships but entirely this one was about giving love another chance under unknown circumstances. It’s one of Tom Hanks’ films that stuck to me second only to BIG about wanting to grow up whereas Sleepless in Seattle is about finding that right person and not closing your doors to the possibility of that part of your life.
Everyone wants to be loved and it’s a great feeling whether receiving it with through your family or in other ways like the theme song of the movie “A Wink and a Smile” which makes Sleepless in Seattle one of the memorable films that’s being shown during the love month.
