TransSportShow | Classic Cars & Then Some

It’s been a while since another local car show happened, and this one is up there as most auto tuners look forward to going aside from the usual event that presents the latest models out there. Rarely, I’ve been going to these shows since the last quarter of 2022 as most annual events have been nearly absent in the last two years.

The Trans Sport Show is one of those car events that just happened, and I can recall going to the first one as far back as almost 15 years ago. This event has been around long enough, but I haven’t been to it for quite a while despite the organizers also being the same company that had the Manila Auto Salon from last year.

Car Meet at 19 Kopong Kopong

12.30.2019 – The unexpected Sunday going to an unknown event was something of an adventure dating back to my days living in South Australia. Rarely, the exploration will take me to places I’ve never been as often as related to the interest in car culture. It is rare in the Philippines to ever be part of one as the most common local car show.

But for last Saturday it was a privilege to end up going to one that is new and not confined in the outdoors. As the New Year inch closer this is sort of a year-end story to share with the “19 Kopong Kopong” Car Meet happened at Camp Aguinaldo.

It might not be like getting up early just to drive uphill to Blackwood but it was good.

Mias 2019 | Classic Car Finds

04.08.2019 – Let’s face it the first day will always be the busiest and the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) has been around long enough to cement itself as the Biggest Cars Show in the country. Its Fiesta vibe is second to none and every year they topped it with the best and brightest gimmick that the exhibitors have come out make all things refreshing for visitors.

MIAS have a lot of new things going on and made sure everyone will have a different experience in the first quarter of 2019. But the main event is the launches for all the car manufacturers participating this year that continues to be a staple rarely some other car shows have with the exception to one that happens every other year. MIAS is an annual show and they try to beat themselves topping this one.

Manila Auto Salon | The Cars, People, & Culture

12.02.2018 – If you live in a densely populated area there’s not much space to go around when you’re into cars mainly the fast ones. The culture in this place is different from being used to reside in the same type of environment only way better. Usually, whenever you’re into motoring that means there are regular car meets not closed to a specific type of community.

But since you live in a very crowded place it’s understandable that this type of community becomes exclusive to a specific brand, make, or model of the vehicle that is popularly known. So car meets are not as generally open to the public that is where cars show like the Manila Auto Salon becomes that place where everyone can have the opportunity to see everything about the automotive culture.

09.17.2016 – There are a lot of ways to express art, but for National Artist like Ben Cab he takes it to the next level and continue to be consistent for the reason he was given the title for being known for his contributions to culture and society. In the sixth Philippine International Motorshow he showed that his works or art also belongs to the automotive industry.

In that form of a Volkswagen Super Beetle a classic work horse that also an iconic car for the German brand that continues to be significant today with its latest cars. The ‘Art Car’ known as “Sabel sa Beetle” was at PIMS all of its artful glory.
