BuyANI | Sustainable Farmer's Market Fair

In these challenging times one must have focus in making sure the priority is health and safety. Recently, since the pandemic the most have been hit with the struggles are the Famers. Most of them needed to travel from their hometown to the city just to sell their wares. But since going to one place to another has become difficult, which crippled travel commutes there’s no way for the famers to sell therm.

Add that most markets have been closed but that will change as Ayala Malls, Department of Agriculture (DA), Ayala Foundation, and the Restaurant Owners Association of the Philippines (RestoPH) launch a campaign to help local farmers to be able to sell their products through “BuyANI” an event in rebuilding and also showing support for local business and communities.

The event had an inaugural opening early this morning at the Glorietta Mall and the event will be happening this weekend beginning today 11 to 13 September 2020. This is just the first leg of the event and Ayala Malls customers can definitely have the opportunity to do safe shopping for the freshest produce and regional food favorites. You’ll find organic vegetables and fruits, fresh dairy products, herbs, and other locally cultivated items in well-curated stalls at DA-regulated price points. Local consumers will also be able to contribute to uplifting the livelihoods of these local farmers with every purchase.

This is certainly a great opportunity for everyone passing through Glorietta to discover something new for this weekend and it has been a long time that this mall has held an event in the past six months. The Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar lauds this initiative to help our noble farmers protect their livelihood who were greatly affected by the logistic challenges brought about the quarantine.

With the strong support of the private sector, the DA is confident that it can achieve its goal, “Right Harvest and High Income” and a food-secure Philippines with prosperous farmers and fishermen.”

Jennylle Tupaz, Ayala Malls President shares, “We continue our mission in uplifting the lives of the Filipinos during these unprecedented times. BuyANI is geared to help Filipino farmers sell their fresh produce and rebuild their business as they steadily get back on their feet and push forward. We understand the struggles of the heroes of our agriculture industry and local restaurateurs alike. By bringing them closer to the consumers through this project, we hope we are able to help alleviate some of their difficulties and contribute positively to the industry as a whole.”

You won’t miss this event as it can be easily seen at the newly renovated activity center, where the venue is decked with Filipino-inspired culture that features vegetables and other organic produce as an entrance and exit while a Jeepney covered with the same motif is the centerpiece and stage of the venue behind the giant digital wall with active screens also can be seen on both sides.

There’s activity happening simultaneously from each booth and stall from an area filled with a plethora of fresh produce to arts & craft, and a table that sells plants that also includes ornaments for your home. It’s like a weekend market held inside the confines of a safe set up inside Glorietta Mall.

You won’t definitely miss it to come and visit and see what’s available in each of the participating small businesses that had set up their booth, table, and stalls filled with local products that surely worth supporting in these challenging times.

Ayala Malls would like to remind all shoppers that recommended health protocols such as physical distancing and the wearing of face masks and face shields should be followed and that in the spirit of sustainability and caring for the environment, purchases are plastic bag-free and shoppers must bring their own eco-bags.
