The Collective | Las Vegas Hookups
Receiving stuff from my sibling was quite a surprise none the less and it was insane since I only see these stuff whenever I pass by the local retail either during the time I was in Down Under or recently around Manila that has so many stores it is still insane why some of these merchandise disappear immediately from their shelves.
The population of the hobby community has tripled in the last ten years when you look back there wasn’t even hoarders to begin with and people still get along and trust about helping each other. But these days it is a different culture in some ways it is either good or bad, which depends on your perspective.
In my opinion it is different living in a densely populated city when everyone wants to make money off on their toys that pricing is absurd whereas back then people were a little conservative knowing others. I might be wrong but I see how the collector market in the Philippines has been a little toxic in its own way. But that’s just me observing how things have changed when I was away in the last two years.
Breaking down the Goodies
This was a bit of challenging to take home because of the size of this Minion and when it was sold in the Philippines it was only available at the TRU flagship store with an absurd price tag in 2015.
It was good timing to know that a sequel for The Minion Movie has been revealed and this Build-A-Minion is something to look forward to build since the rights has been snapped by LEGO, which is set to release five new brand new sets based on the upcoming sequel.
More Than Meets the Hookups
Majority of my personal collection hasn’t been much up to date with the latest Transformers toys with the recent War for Cybertron Trilogy with Siege I don’t have plans on collecting them, but I do have some favorites from this series that I have already acquired. Thanks to my brother he surprised me some unique stuff that’s not even available here like the Wendy’s Kids Meal toys.
LEGO Old & New Sets
It was interesting to find out most of the bagged impulse packs like the Fire Rescue and Police sets are from 2010, while getting the Toy Story 4 set was unexpected too. The other goodies in this photo are the reusable labels for building structures, which I only saw a different brand once five years ago.
Mix and Match of Collectibles
Lastly, the Poop King from Matcbox, Netflix Voltron from Burger King, a couple of Hot Wheels blind packs, and the Playmogram featuring Ghostbusters II Ray Stanz was quite caught me off-guard to getting this since it wasn’t event available on Australian or Philippine retail and it is quite a steal.
Shirt and Cap
On a final note, the favorite that I got was not the toys but a TransFormers collared shirt and Justice League. They are nice merchandise since it has better design than the ones being sold now at The SM Store compared to back then when the design is not overly insane and all you need is just simple aesthetics that this shirt has to offer.
I don’t wear caps on a regular basis but I bring one now whenever the weather is not that good and this Justice League trumps the ones I receive during the press screenings as the art work image of the four of the six JL members are a stand out.
Thankful to my brother for these gifts and I haven’t got into them save to the Toy Story 4 set that I built last Saturday, which was adorbs with the new look Woody. But I kinda like the old design more with the connection to the screen version, but this one will do that includes four Green Army Men.
I should go dig up some of the other stuff that I got in the past when I have the time for now always appreciate my brother for all these neat stuff. Hopefully, I can get into them when I have the available time moving forward.
