Toy Expo 2012: The Media Day Experience!

08.22.2012 – Toy Kingdom’s FIRST Toy Expo opened its doors both from print and online media. The event was hosted by Paolo Abrera with the speech delivered by Ms. Rose Marie Mamonluk-Dylim expressed her sincerest gratitude for making this event possible and continuous support for making Toy Kingdom the favourite destination for kids. Toy Expo 2012 is not just a shopping destination which opens on August 23 to 26, 2012 at the SMX Convention Centre Hall 3 and 4 but an event that the entire family should definitely enjoy.

This would be the “four day toy experience” which highlights the latest toys from well-loved brands.

Young boys and girls are in for a treat not only to choose their favourite toys but to enjoy the interactivity of each booth which is quite an experience for the newest annual toy event in the country.

Every booth has its own attraction and display but the Bandai area certainly got my attention being a fan of the new Thundercats toy line as well as the classics from the 1980s which the TV show unfortunately was cancelled without any news of its second season.







The next booth that caught my attention is the Nickelodeon area located at the farther part of Hall 3 which would give the young kids some interaction with the giant game board and guess the mystery boxes which earns you special token prize.

Then just across Nickelodeon is where Hello Kitty booth is located produced by different brands such as building sets by Mega Bloks and Italian brand Androni Giocattoli.

The other interesting booth at the Media Day at Toy Expo 2012 is the six foot tall R2D2 which I had the opportunity of having a photo before I check out the gigantic Spongebob Squarepants back at the Nickelodeon booth.





In-between going around the booths I catch up with the closing of the program where they raffle off 10 Toy Kingdom GCs and the handheld portable PlayStation VITA which I have unexpectedly won as the grand prize in the event that was opened for the media.

Nothing like capping off the night taking home something without expecting it and I thought I was counting on taking home a TK GC but this is good enough to try my hands on portable gaming.

Toy Expo 2012 opens its doors to the public on August 23 to 26, 2012 at the SMX Convention Centre Hall 3 and 4 which is in the SM Mall of Asia.
