A Year After | Life in Australia

05.22.2018 – What a year it has been to live in a foreign country I hardly know.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have this opportunity to have experience what its like to live far away from home and to be honest its not as easy at may seem. I have travelled to other places but living in one changes the perspective entirely. Not only it gives you a different look at life but theay you connect with people.

Travel is good it opens your eyes to what other countries culture is different from the one you used to all your life, but living longer going through the day teaches you anywhere its not what everyone thought was a breeze

A Year After | The Real Aussie Life

12.11.2017 – How a year would be different from what I’ve gotten used to from the one I’m experiencing in the past years. The last time I travelled to South Australia was a two-week Holiday trip in 2014 and 2015.

But last year was different the stay was longer and it was unexpected that things would eventually change. Things has have been a welcoming perspective at the same time challenging that few think is basking in the sun on a foreign country.

A Year After | Don Razon 1977-2016

11.25.2017 – It has been exactly one year after Fernando “Don” Razon III passed away on the night of this date. I have not forgotten him even though I missed his homecoming and burial back in Manila I always remember for the way he is a generous funny guy. Though I’m not a close to this very talented individual, he became a good friend over the last years of life.

I haven’t had written a proper tribute to his legacy on GeekMatic! last year this was due to personal commitments and the changes in my own life that brought me to this foreign country where Don moved with his family.

It was also a difficult time personally that I wasn’t able to say my goodbyes and here’s a tribute to RATEEG.

Goodies from Singapore!

09.05.2013 – It’s obvious that I missed the weekend’s “The Pop Culture of the Year” which was really not my plan to go back there. Last year’s Singapore trip was tight schedule was a pressure cooker it was too short of a trip to see more of the place.

My good friend Kartonista made sure he got me something not to miss the convention and other things besides the friends we made in our last travel there. Well actually he was there surprisingly.

There’s so much fun in the goodies he took home from his recent visit to the red dot island and I’m still feeling the residue from that adventure.

The Box of Surprises.

07.22.2013 – This might be the biggest box yet to arrive since the last one last October 2012 and I believe this will occupy my time choosing which one to open up. But there are some stuff as I was advised has already been open to be included.

This has been the fifth one that came from the Bay area but as documented this is the fourth that I have written about. The first one was not packaged in the box but there were a lot of comic books as well as the sketches that I have shared here the other year. This one seems like Christmas in July and why I can never ask for more.

The Singaporean Appreciation.

12.12.2012 – It’s rarely you’ll find recognition in the little things I do because personally don’t expect anything in return. I don’t want the attention or the spotlight and I rarely speak about this kind of things. I would rather talk about the people who deserve the attention and recognition.

Besides I don’t think anyone is reading the stuff I write about because I’m not “cool” or “astig” whatever that sound’s positively insane.

It’s rarely I find friends who would definitely appreciate and reciprocate in a much unexpected manner until now.

Singapore 2012: The Return to the Red Dot Island!

08.31.2012 – The return to Singapore was a bit a bumpy one with a lot of challenges. This time I travelled with my friend RG via Tiger Airways. It was great to be back but not with minor bumps on the road prior to our boarding the plane.

The challenges started when we got off the Domestic Terminal where originally advised by the same people who processed out tickets last July upon paying our reservation.

The staff based here at Tiger Airways office in Makati should clarify that international travelling is at the NAIA Terminal 1.

Donald Duck Original Art Sketches and More!

12.05.2011 – Eureka! I finally found my other two signed sketch art by well know Filipino comic book artists. Now I have reunited all the sketches that came from the “care package” from San Francisco. If anyone has known me personally I don’t only collect toys, comics, magazine… Lint and anything that looks cool I get them.

But seriously it was not my idea to collect sketch art a friend made the effort to getting me one done by three artists from WonderCon 2008. It’s something I really I appreciate about art by not just looking at them it’s the meticulous detail that makes me like how the contours of the pencil stroke such awesomeness.

Mach Diesel Inspiring The Right Influence.

04.13.2011 - Saying goodbye to anyone on a daily basis is just like meeting them again.

But for some other reason saying goodbye to a true friend is hard to come by.

I mean its hard to see two people leave each other, and go through with separation anxiety. Though through thick and thin they managed to keep the relationship alive.

The Evolution of My Digital Photography.

11.11.2010 - Photography what makes it the most attracting hobby to date? Honestly I don't know the technicalities to go through with such complex technology. But one thing I know is it helps me produce content using these cameras that evovled through technology over the years.

What I know is capturing a better perspective. Its often I'm interested to upgrade my gear as I've been a shutterbug since I was nine years old. Growing up my fascination with a camera gives me that curiosity to capture images that define every store and perspective, and here's how they evolved throughout the years.

Halloween 2010: First Trick or Treat Adventure!

11.01.2010 - In the Philippines the Halloween tradition is not celebrated as everyone goes to visit the dearly departed for All souls Day.

Rarely Halloween is celebrated the way it is unlike having a big party in costume.

Minus The Glamor.

10.12.2010 - Late night work out just walking around the city is good enough exercise.

So a good walk is better than no walk at all.

Went to Greenbelt 3 to meet up with great friends who just had dinner at Yakimix located besides Bedspace.

Roca & Kitchie Good Friends For Life.

09.03.2010 - These days music choices depends on what's popular and trending that you hear on the radio or see it on television. Sometimes it is also through the internet particularly on YouTube as most of the artists who produce music upload their videos nowadays. There are also artists you've been following since, and unexpectedly become part of your life, which brings you to the two people I can say have been friends.

It has been more than a year since Kitchie Nadal and Roca Cruz ventured globally starting in Europe, Middle East, and the United States. It's hard to keep track of them if you've become a part of their lives. Mostly with Roca that I hang out and was good company...

When Mach & Arlene Going The Distance.

09.01.2010 - Last Tuesday night I just saw the press media screening of the movie Going The Distance with a friend, which stars Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. The story is about long distance relationship.

The plot is already given with the title. I'm not going to talk about the movie or review about it. But I'm going to talk about two best friends of mine...

The Karate Kid Saturday.

Saturdays has become special days. I don't want to work on weekends. It's something about this day that makes me forget about work.

Honestly its the opposite now that I've been mostly home since March. But all things considered...

Life's Lesson at Hospicio de san Jose.

05.03.2010 - There was an eye opening moment for me in realization how we are fortunate to have lived a normal life. Thanks to my friend May and Andie for the invitation on this special day.

Visiting the kids in this place will give you importance how fortunate some of us never to experience hardship and this place certainly has an impact to someone who never saw hardship this close.

I had the opportunity to be part of the outreach, which May personally advocates for these children. It was certainly an unforgettable experience to be able to give your time and effort in making these kids feel important.

The 24 hours of Iron Man.

Today was the most exhausting day of our lives. I haven't been home in the last twenty four hours after Tim V. invited me to watch Iron Man 2 at midnight. I decided to miss the doughnut event, but was able to get things prepared Thursday night.

Its Tim's first time to guest on a live broadcast, but he has been into these TV interviews before. This one is live broadcast and he just needs assistance.

Opinions: Truth is Believe

04.13.2010 - WE go through A LOT of things and sometimes subject ourselves to the wrong choices we make. But finding the drive and motivation is coming from within ourselves. Tehre are no motivation if we have to drag ourselves from the things put ourselves into.

We live through to find our balance in life and that's a very challenging situation that needs to find the balnace to make things work. This is just some random opinion that comes into mind that rarely comes out uiin writing that's bubbling from deep down. Sometimes, you just need to let it out in a more productive way to speak it out and let yourself know what's been happening.

Reminiscing The Radio1 days.

03.12.2010 - This reminds me how different I was in 1998. Primetime Jam is an old Radio 1 program aired on Monster Radio RX93.1, that I was the main host and had a partner or two.

Those where the days I'm missing a childhood dream, and for the reason why I sounded good when talking to clients on the phone.

Though radio is different you have to be spontaneous and smiling all the time. Its something I haven't been doing in a long time. Probably its time to go back to my roots and pay my dues where I got these abilities.
