There is a very diverse and talented artist in the Philippines ranging from creating installations to works of art that are featured in galleries all over the world. The amount of talent can’t be filled in one room or gallery. It is rare to read about someone starting out and finding out that there’s a course of study that would lead them to the path they’ve been so passionate about doing it.
Of course, it is also quite unique to build yourself up in finding that signature tone and idea and making it your own based on the individuals that came before you and become part of your life’s work. Lilianna Manahan is one of those individuals who have recently had her first solo show with León Gallery International. |
The celebration of her successful show was packed with family, friends, and close acquaintances who followed her journey from making sculptures, jewelry, and other impressive pieces. This is not her very first solo show, but this is the first time she had one that’s open to the public that can be seen from outside the gallery on a Wednesday night.
This was one of León Gallery’s celebrated shows featuring a solo or a group artist complete with an ice cream vendor handing out the available flavours he’s offering for free. It also attract the kids that came in tow with their friends who knew the artist, and the place was quite a party.
Lilianna Manahan’s set of works on exhibit at the gallery is a combination of installation and painting from her concept of ideas that hangs on the walls of the gallery and during the opening night there was not enough place to sit and admire each one of her creations. But it was an interesting walkthrough around the crowded space that is usually silent on a normal day just viewing it.
“Snapshoot!” a solo show featuring Lilianna Manahan, which is now on exhibit from 22 February until 6 March 2023 at León Gallery. For more about the other upcoming art shows, you can follow León Gallery on social media via Facebook and Instagram.
