| There’s no such thing as the great outdoors anymore due to the pandemic of COVID-19 and the only reason why the city is slowly opening up is due to economy. It is still not highly advised to go out and venture your way to spend at your own leisure. But you can’t avoid seeing people now that might have made the change in your perspective these past months being in quarantine.
The only reason you need to step out is either you run to do your errands and other important priorities or for those who are cautiously need to get out in doing your workout routine that only allows you in your limited time. But of course in those short travels to the store to buy food or a jog around your area for the observant you may find something that is not ‘normal’ to a decent educated individual. |
In the city of Makati when you even mentioned the word it is considered ‘world class’ to represent of the central business districts in the country. It also says that all the people are decent, well educated, and have ethics in their nature. But that’s not the case when you find certain individuals that carry themselves would behave the same way that you thought of people in the streets,
There is no beauty in seeing the type of backward primitive behavior that other countries see the blatant misbehaving that does not aligned on how this city has to offer. But you can’t avert your eyes when you see how these types of individuals behave to say it gives a bad image of what the city should represent.

Public Toilet Horror
They say fake it until you make it and you though you’ve seen everything in this country. Seriously, if you think that informal settlers getting caught in public spraying their mellow yellow on broad daylight is ‘normal’ wait until you see someone dressed like a professional taking a leak using luxury vehicle’s door as its shield.
While I was walking along Armorsolo Street on broad daily at past 10 AM in the morning I though I’m just having a bad glare from the sun when I caught this man parked at the sidewalk spraying his human liquid just at the curb in his black shiny leather shoes dressed in his office attire. Clearly, there’s a toilet near the build he has parked and you can’t make this shit up.

No Helmet. No Mask. No Problem.
The current pandemic made bicycle rides the most common use of transportation, but of course majority of this country don’t follow the rules about WEARING A HELMET as they think it’s just a piece of useless added weight in their everyday travels whenever or wherever they are headed.
It’s funny that this country and its government find ways to monetize things that they put in the law. The bicycle of course since it is becoming a mode of transport wants the government for you to register and get a license plate and that adds more expense to those who are already financially struggling when they can’t put into law wearing a helmet is not an excuse or voluntary it is MANDATORY.
You see it anywhere not only on bicycle riders but those with electric two or three-wheel vehicles. The government is not thinking ahead they just want their money for you to pay them to register your bicycle. Why not instead of asking everyone to pay when you can just get the money by charging anyone not wearing a helmet that would be something to curb up than demanding the whole country to pay for registration for something other countries don’t do no such thing.

Loitering Entitlements
The thing with loitering shows majority of Filipinos who spend time sitting in park benches of anywhere they spend hours of their leisure time chatting and staring at their phones don’t have the ethics of taking their rubbish with them. It is a common sight in the Philippines that I very rarely see in Adelaide.
It’s like the people who leave their rubbish are the type of individuals who think they know someone will be cleaning those up. Sure, the city government hire park maintenance and the ones cleaning up the public places. But being an albatross leaving your rubbish is not a sign of democratic freedom it is entitlement.
This type of people laze a way should be penalized through the security cameras and CCTV installed at the park. That happens in other countries why not here? There’s no excuse for this kind of people that should be thrown to the rubbish bin.

Mentally Distant but Physically Ignorant
You see groups of people going out taking their lunch from work and yet the protocol for physical distancing is not there. You might have seen a lot of this in nearby shopping centres or food crawls that supposed to be serving only for take away. It shows what kind of society the Philippines is when you see undisciplined individuals that behave with ignorance that there’s a virus out there.
Personally, it is not the usual thing anymore to these places when people that supposed to be educated would act like primitive individuals that has zero discipline in their bones let alone that when you walk a narrow sidewalk a group of them bunch up together and take the whole street when they could have cautiously distant themselves in a single file like human beings.
In the end this pandemic truly shows majority of people you see in the streets their savagely primitive behavior. It is not how they dressed or look educated or even have double doctorates but how they carry themselves truly shows their real character and it isn’t uncommon sight even before this pandemic broken the planet.
It really shows how savage Filipinos can be that there’s no such thing as ethics or commons sense to be aware of their individual actions they simply take to abusing freedom to the point probably the next time you see someone dressed with a tie would be dropping some serious shit with their pants down, truly disgusting.
