| 02.17.2019 – A few days ago Conan O’Brien officially announced through his social media that his next “Conan without Borders” travel segment is heading to the land down under in Australia. Of course, a lot are excited for this as an interesting adventure for the orange haired legendary talk show host.
Hugh Jackman, one of the famed Aussie celebrities who is popular in Hollywood has invited him for this one time opportunity to visit the country. He also revealed this in his monologue during Tuesday’s episode that he’s making the trip next week. |
What was truly revealed in his travel to Australia was actually a one time comedy show that was lined up for him to be there. Of course, it will be at one of the cities in Australia namely in Sydney where everyone always wanted to visit. He mentioned all of this in his opening monologue seen below:
Let’s face it Australia is a continent like the US and there is A LOT of places to explore. Conan has travelled previously last year to Cuba, Italy, Japan, and Korea and met some mixed reactions depending on the countries he’s been to. Honestly, he’s become more popular with this segment than his regular run as a talk show host.
I’ve been a fan not a diehard one but has been following his career since I caught up with his early days on NBC that was aired in the Philippines in one of the local cable channels. Of course, many Filipinos would want him to visit tat country too. But just my humble opinion to his trip to Australia why not travel to the state territories that rarely gets much attention than the main key cities?
When you say “Australia” the city that comes to mind is always Sydney or Melbourne. I have lived in Australia for a few a couple short years, but never got to see those two cities I mentioned. I had the opportunity to live in one of the state territories in the country that needs the world to see. I know it’s a very long shot for Conan to ever read this article, but here are a few suggestions I think Team Coco should look at and make the trip to down under a memorable one to the his viewers.

Travel to Where Nobody Cares
Australia is a big country it’s considered a continent with a diverse cultures that arguably one of the best in the world. Why not Conan travel to see places hardly people see it can boost Australia’s other regional state that needs a shot at tourism like Northern Territory or South Australia.
South Australia is where I lived there and some say Adelaide is a “sleepy town” I want Conan to see this Festival State for its camping experience and winery. There’s A LOT of things people perceive about this place I’ve come to adore and miss every day. From its awesome beaches to a diverse and VERY POLITE community the South Aussies are good folks deserving of a spotlight.
Northern Territory has just recently opened up for migration in need of economic boost, not just tourism. Although I have never been there hearing the news that this state needs some life itself Conan can travel and show what opportunities to see in this part of Australia aside from what it needs now, but the good experience of its native culture and what it has offered to the world.
Go Where No Bloke Knows
Australia does not exist as what ‘Flat Earthers’ think but maybe one of the famed Aussies who had broken through Hollywood show this place and what’s famous for aside from the usual view of Sydney and Melbourne. There’s a lot to discover for Conan to see in his stay in this place.
The late Anthony Bourdain was the guy to see about traveling to a place, but now he’s gone why not Conan be the next man? Sure, he can make us cringe in some of the things he does on his travels to these countries. But what makes him standout is his reactions to the cultures that he encounters and that’s why he should collaborate with Australian tourism to make things happen during his trip there.
A Survival of Experiences
Honestly, it’s great to hear Conan making his travel plans to Australia it is a good opportunity for the country’s tourism. But I hope that he gives also the chance to see the other parts of this country not just the popular places, but those areas that I’ve mentioned although it’s zero chances that he’ll be actually there.
As a fan and viewer of his show I can’t wait to see how things go from there. Conan has broken the barriers of not just a nightly talk show host in America. But a traveller with his crew that include his best friend Jordan Schlansky which is gonna hilarious to see… Well until 16 February 2019 where he’s going to be there.
