| 12.28.2018 – Quiccs a local artist in the Philippines known for his concept that inspired from his appreciation for hip hop music, Gundams, and just being true blue Filipino. He has been synonymous with his creation of his signature character TEQ63 that debuted almost five years ago. The first Designer Art Toy he produced was made from resin and it was an immediate hit.
This year alone Quiccs collaborated with well-known brands and other artists. He was present in the recent DesignerCon and toy events in Bangkok that has been a haven for Toy Art. He launched his most recent art toy the Nano TEQ63 collaboration with Martian Toys that is manufactured by Devil Toys from Hong Kong launching the standard colorways, but this one was for NYCC 2018. |
Dubbed “Super-Size Me” or most collectors call it the ‘McNano TEQ63’ due to that this third colorway of the Nano TEQ63 is inspired from McDonald’s that was almost mistaken for a Happy Meal toy. It was launched exclusively at the recent New York Comicon that was sold at the Martian Toys booth.
This colorway was one of the favorites to follow the PRIME Nano TEQ63 that became available along with the standard Black and White versions released at a local Toy event in the Philippines. The McNano TEQ63 became available again at the recently concluded debut of Toy Art PH: Toy Festival 2018. A close look at this McDonald’s colorway of the Nano TEQ63 is in bright red and yellow theme.
Instead of having the Golden Arches logo as this figurine’s badge you see QUICCS skull design that shows that this isn’t your usual Happy Meal toy defining the character for its familiar fast food restaurant colors.
Unlike the previous iteration of the TEQ63 this has only one articulation which is the head that can look either way. The paint is on point with the McDonald’s colorway and it did not disappoint with how smooth the colors work on this figurine. It will surely make you a fan of QUICCS works that define how Devil Toys collaboration greatly put more quality on this figurine.
NANO TEQ63 a Martion Toys Exclusive from QUICCS is certainly a winner. With collaboration with Devil Toys from Hong Kong and if you can still find this colorway it’s sold at ₱1,500.00 pesos.
