Crane & Turtle Garden | Oriental Divine
“Tsuruki-En” or publicly known as the Crane and Turtle Garden resides inside Francis Sycip Park near the parking lot. It was officially opened on Valentine’s Day. It was inaugurated in celebration between the Philippines in Japan – a Crane and Turtle to personify a lasting legacy of friendship. The park was named after the traditional Asian symbols of long life. Sankakuya Inc. of Kyoto, designed and built the garden that you may find a perspective or tranquility when you visit this place.
The small area is surrounded by trees and plants with concrete benches doubles as its own barrier. It’s the only oriental garden in the financial district of the country. It’s like being transported to a piece of Japanese culture and you don’t need to travel to that place when you have it in the close proximity of the city that can be found inside one of the major parks in the area.
The Crane and Turtle is one of many Oriental theme gardens in Metro Manila, which stands out to be not your average Japanese garden. Though not as spacious as the other ones that were developed throughout the other cities this place is enough for you to meditate and have your ‘personal quiet time.’
Just like all the parks in Makati they open at 6 AM and closes at 10 PM from Mondays to Sundays. It’s not like the other parks in other countries because this is gated to prevent and protect unwanted visitors to avoid being vandalized or taking advantage of its place to becoming a sanctuary for the homeless individuals.

This park also has rules about taking photos inside the premises using professional cameras and social gatherings that you need to ask a written permission from Makati Commercial Estate Association, Inc. (MaCEA). The rules also apply to the other parks as being privately developed, and besides that the Makati has already been populated more than the other cities compared to the past 5-10 years.
But in the end of the day the developers made it sure this park is open for everyone appreciate the nature within with the Crane and Turtle Garden.
