Festival of Lights | Prelude to a Hidden Mickey
For the uninitiated notice of the large installation that was set up near the Makati Stock Exchange, this would be obvious for the keen-eyed passerby. The installation has a shape of Mickey Mouse’s head and there were details of this that were previously posted on the Make it Makati Facebook page that was deleted.
As the event nears to light up the main installation this weekend surely you have been anxious and excited for a regular dweller in the Makati Central Business District. The image of a large head of Mickey Mouse is not just an installation. There’s something more than meets the eye as elements of Disney’s deep-rooted culture can be noticed as the surface of the installation reveals during daylight.
Surely, you can expect this to be fired up soon and people will come in droves to have their mobile phones set up to take a lot of photos and videos shared on social media. This will be a regular once it’s lighted up and you’ll be Disney music will accompany the dazzling lights that you haven’t seen before.
Here’s to the weekend may your Holiday wishes come true, for now, enjoy the festivities and basked into the Disney nostalgia that you’ve grown up to as this week is going to be busy and hectic to forget how terrible traffic is every day.
Just this once you’ll just keep coming to see this and make it your own Filipino tradition. Definitely not as grand as the upcoming Christmas Pageant in Adelaide, South Australia but anywhere in Asia or Oceania the Holiday season starts when the light is up at Ayala Triangle Gardens for the Festival of Lights.
