The Commuter | City, Society, & Perspective

There is something about going out just a few minutes to get some air out or do the usual errand walking by the store to buy some food. Then there’s that feeling of ‘cabin fever’ when you travel farther than what you have been used to for the past two months that seemed an eternity, which is a strange thing that I used to take for granted day in and out since it was the normal thing to do.

But yesterday was something an anxiety of that different feeling that you don’t want to get out of the house or even try to take the first step out of your comfort zone. It is nauseating at the same time feels like it’s totally different that your body just wants to stay indoors and spend more time recharging in bed. But that’s not going to happen now I travel to go back to Manila for the first time in the past weeks.

In Photography | Road Repair Work

05.26.2017 – Everyday there’s something new to see in South Australia its either some weird bird watching from a tree or just a random rubbish truck stealing someone’s garbage.

But today its just a rare road repair work that’s seamlessly been finished in less than forty eight hours.

It’s rare that you see the city of Marion make repair work in suburb streets.

This was just one of those days seeing them put the finishing touches on the new asphalt laid over in some parts of Sturt late in the noon time.

The Commuter: How to be Inconvenient…

08.30.2015 – It was Sunday and this should be down time and the holiday extends to Monday. You’ll expect there will be less traffic which is good. But what about less public utility buses travelling in and out the city seemed like it was holy week.

I always have a usual routine on Sundays whenever there’s an art launch happening at Secret Fresh. For this day it’s the launch for two visual artists collaborating, but due to almost zero buses plying within the city, add rain then you got inconvenienced.

Down South 2013: Travel to Davao City.

01.04.2013 – This was the second time to travel alone but a first in Davao City to catch up with a friend and see how thing goes. The flight was at 4AM which takes you an hour and 45 minutes to get to Davao City. The weather was just right as every start of the year rain starts to pour in this city.

I took residence at Tower Inn which was located along Quirino Avenue and I’ve been in this place several times since I first went here back in 2010 and spent my New Year in the province but stayed there for a few days by January 2011 for a family reunion with relatives. There were several reviews about the hotel but I guess it’s a matter of personal experience.

Personal Highlight of 2011: The Travel To Korea!

12.30.2011 – In the span of a decade I have travelled less and have only seen the surface in my trips to selected countries in Asia. The year 2011 was very fortunate to me being able to explore another place in Korea.

For 18 days I’ve shared enough photos and videos than anyone could brag that they made it to the city of Seoul which has not entirely shared the essence of being there.

For anyone who I’ve seen and told that they are in Seoul that’s the not the only place in Korea for you to see. I’ve been to Busan and live to tell little places where you can find all Filipinos who hang out.

The Global Traveler: Move. Eat. Learn.

12.29.2011 – Anyone is inspired to travel and experience a different culture to see a different perspective. For anyone like Rick Mereki that vision made us more to envious in dreaming wanting to travel and have our own story to share.

Personally the travel to Korea was a similar experience and that was one unforgettable trip personally.

Random Snaps: Sunday at the Ayala Malls!

07.03.2011 - Sunday is an equal opportunity to spend with the family and love ones. This is the first time I spent going to the mall from the opening up to post-lunch time.

The Central Business District has changed in the last seven years, and it has evolved from its landscape.

Sunset Snaps at Venice Piazza.

02.09.2011 - Last Monday after a rough day traveling to McKinley Hill I had to catch my breath.

Travel to this place is not as easy as going to The Fort Bonifacio with all the buses and jeepney being accessible.

They have the City Link buses but its only with limited routes, that looked kinda out of place for a regular commuter like me.

Holiday Night Lights.

12.15.2010 - Heading home from another toy run. Its now becoming a habit for me to get out at night during these times.

I wish the store would stay opened until 11PM on a regular basis, which reminded me on my first trip to Singapore last year.

I'm definitely missing the trip there meeting old friends.

One Silent Saturday Night.

12.05.2010 - Stuck at home for the remaining hours Saturday is not fun, but at least I didn't get to spend extravagantly for something I might regret.

I was itching to get out of the house, because its getting unhealthy being stuck at home facing the compute for the whole day.

Midnight Run.

08.02.2010 - Its past midnight and the city never sleeps. Indeed its true and that's what I've been missing for months. If anyone who's not reading hard enough I haven't been going to night shifts for the past four months. What I miss is working near like a couple of blocks away. It seems like 2005 again but its not though rather nostalgic can remind a good memory of the past...
