| Art is not just about paintings on a canvas or sculptures that resemble the creator’s vision. They can be everyday objects but with the artist’s rendition and incorporation of ideas to a theme that represents a unique concept that is not done traditionally. Sometimes that creativity for that random object can be special to stand out.
The Two-Woman Show “Good Things” by Mimaaaaaaaw and Pat Frades is something like that and more. It is aching to an IKEA showroom, but a place that makes strangers feel like it is a comfy room that they never expect to sleep in or even hang out with their closest friends, and it is certainly a place that takes you to this world they have put together. |
“Good Things” is not just about the setup that makes it so different from the other shows that were open to the public earlier in the evening at Vinyl on Vinyl. The collaboration of these two artists produced a combination of ceramic, fabric, and whimsical sculptures that are hand-crafted.
Pat Frades has found her style beyond the painting of the canvas as she hones her talent and skill to create something unique that is all hers. The collaboration with Mimaaaaaaaaw who is traditionally a street artist and painter gets her to experiment with her creativity to something she has not done before to collaborate with Pat Frades takes you to a new style and appreciation of what is art.
