Grind in Photos | Manila to Ortigas and Back

02.05.2020 – Getting around Metro Manila is no cakewalk when there are errands to do on a Tuesday and even if it is early morning or not the peak of traffic the commute is incomparable to rides from the suburbs to Adelaide via Bus, Train, or even Tram. With most Aussie friends say that they don’t like commuting in their state.

But then again, that a perspective of a Westerner, who hasn’t tried living in any of the countries in Southeast Asia unlike no other though if you ever endured the rough life it would come easy to even experience the commute in a western country.

Even though it is a challenge to dealing with overcrowded rides some parts are not bad.

Every morning starts with traffic and at the end of the day with the same situation day in and day out. You’ll be surprised to know how that pans out for most Filipinos and still amazed how some survive the everyday commutes taking the bus via EDSA (Epifanio De los Santos Avenue) that was formerly known as Highway Fifty Five.

Back then it was smooth sailing but the current name is appropriate for its slow crawl due to the cities it passes through and the ultra-densely populated place where everything and everyone is in one place that tops Manila as the second worse for this category. It’s is just of the facets of what this country have, but as they say you have to look for the good in the bad even though you see someone taking a dump on broad daylight at one of the historical landmarks of country.

Anyhow here are some images from yesterday taking a ride on the bus going to Ortigas area ending up in Manila seeing a huge crowd gather up and listen to a street performer in Carriedo…

At the end of the day Manila has something for most who has not visited the busiest part of the country. There is a rarity of goodness but entirely it is up to you if you want to swallow the worse and think it is still good, alright.
