Big Bad Wolf Manila | Book Sale Madness

03.06.2019 – The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale event has been running for TEN DAYS non-stop 24/7 that most people who has been there would probably have not went home. There’s so much to go around this event that you might get lost into spending too much for something you might not actually need. It’s the biggest book sale event in the country that has been held in the last two years.

It is the most anticipated book sale event that most people have camped near the area of the World Trade Center Manila where the event is being held. The magnitude of this event has proven that physical books are still in-demand where in other countries have shrunken into digital files in someone’s mobile phone or tablet. This is also the alternative for some to acquire exclusive book not sold in stores.

Sunday is the second to the last day of the ten da event has been celebrated by all walks of life from kids, parents, and those who are into reading this was the event to be. But there are also other people who are not entirely into books but to look around and find something that will get them hooked into books. This event never closes since its opening day they have been open non-stop 24/7 for the reason some camp out as this event also have an area provided a food section just outside the main hall.

For some it is no longer advisable to go to this event on the last few days it is mostly the best things to be at is on the very first day. Because as they say “the early bird gets the worm” or the best bargain books that you can find. The venue when you enter the main hall is a ginormous field of books of all shapes and sizes not categorized as what type of books but for its genre.

The eventful book show has a lot to offer even though you may not find the one you really seek you just have to look harder and see if it is worth the investment. It is entirely consumer driven event if you do not have the focus what you really want even though you have enough or have control over your funds. It is necessarily rest in your hands what you really need not what you want to get or acquire.

Going to the event late in the evening has its own challenges too as you’d never expect a horde of humans digging piles of books in each sections while there are some parts that hardly get any attention. The graphic novel for example may no longer have the books that you may hope to have, but there are other alternative titles. It is the most part of the section I spent time digging up and looking for the ones I hope to see which I did but mostly the ones that sort of a “leftover” from that particular series.

Along the way scouring each section you’ll find some of the pre-love books that were previously owned that was shipped from the US to this event. Some you’ll be surprised it existed but never became available locally that I could not recall anymore. It was about almost past nine that I end up in the automotive section, which is generally related to all forms of transportation from cars, planes and ships which was interesting that some of my mates back at TAFE or even the lecturers will find this worth their while seeing all types of the books I could have seen or have not gotten the chance to browse in one of the local libraries back in Adelaide.

By the time I was near the end of one particular book section I already came across a LEGO related book, a magazine that has a Batman Minifigure, and one Marvel graphic novel by Matt Fraction’s run on Hawkeye. But due to tight budgeting I left that later book and took home those LEGO related material that arguably cheap. BBW was really quite the sight seeing people really diving into books and there are lots of kids too and at the end of the day personally I didn’t much find something for me personally if I had much more financial flexibility I could have took home that Neil Gaiman book that’s worth twice in one local book shop. But I’ll take the Brick Flicks any day as this was one of those LEGO books that has enough build ideas to do some experiments for some MOC projects.
