Yuchengco Museum | Eduardo Castrillo @ 50

10.14.2016 – Award winning artist Eduardo Castrillo known as Nationalist Sculptor, jewellery designer, monument maker, and pioneering radical in visual arts has celebrated 50 years for his creativity as an artist who passed away May of this year is being honored and having his works exhibited at the Yuchengco Museum.

This launched also the Samsung Culture Connect in July for his contributions that featured all his creations, where they had a photo contest and the winners was present for the awarding ceremony last night.


Together with Yuchengco Museum, Samsung Electronics Philippines, and Castrillo Legacy Art Studio paid tribute to Eduardo Castrillo through Samsung Culture Connect that presented “ Eduardo Castrillo @ 50: Moving the Legacy Forward.”

The event launches also the Castrillo Legacy Art Studio, which the artist mentored and cultivated creativity which he trained his children, nephews, and assistants that featured an exhibit of their works. This was also the awarding ceremony for the Instagram photo contest that was announced last July, which featured images captured all of Eduardo Castrillo’s works all over the Philippines.













After the awarding of winner the guests and media where toured to the section where Samsung Culture Connect exhibit has set up a virtual reality area that capture places, where Castrillo’s metal sculptures can be found using the VR headset to get a view of the creations where its located.

Instagram contest winner’s photos are also on exhibit at the museum along with his sculptors and even the jewelleries that he designed. You can all view them at the third level of the Yuchengco Museum, while the Castrillo Legacy Studio exhibit can be viewed at the second level.
