Sonic the Hedgehog | Going Supersonic

02.24.2020 – There are iconic videogame characters and there’s Sonic the Hedgehog. It was unexpected seeing this one would be something special since I never was a fan of the character. But it was one of those games I played on the 16-Bit Sega Mega Drive from my high school classmate. Sonic achieved icon statues since Sega produced game consoles up until 2000 with their Dreamcast, which I owned but never had the game that was released in this platform. The cartoon series was heaps of fun getting to know more about the character his friends and Dr Robotnik. If Nintendo has Mario and Pikachu while Sony used to have Crash Bandicoot then Sega had Sonic. When the very first trailer was revealed on YouTube I never had expectations and basing from reactions from social media platforms it wasn’t the most impressive translation from games and animation to live–action. But the redesign was enough to give everyone hope in seeing that this video game-inspired movie would take off the sting of blockbuster failures that plagued previous video games adapted to films.

Bumblebee Movie | Transformers Back to Life

01.07.2019 – The Transformers Film Series for 10 years have been met with good to critical reviews under the direction of Michael Bay prior to this prequel spin-off featuring the solo adventures of Bumblebee. Its previous film “The Last Knight” has been met with negative feedback. With this Prequel, Spin-Off fans and the media were holding their breath on the announcement that focuses more on one of its beloved characters. Bumblebee has been a well-loved character that connects to the younger generation as with his childish characteristics.

Reel Review: Terminator Genisys!

07.01.2015 – The Terminator franchise has had its ups and downs recently and the new addition is the fifth installment titled “Terminator Genisys” seems to be an exciting one. There will be varying opinions how Alan Taylor turn this franchise into his vision. The only hold over from the original films will be Arnold Schwarzenegger who’s making a comeback since Rise of the Machines since they only used his appearance in Salvation and was still at that time was the Governor of California…

Reel Review: Jurassic World!

06.13.2015 – Almost two years ago I had the privilege to see Jurassic Park in the big screen. This of course is the 20th anniversary release of the original with additional scenes first time to be seen in cinema, which was released through home media. From the opening through the visual and musical score Steven Spielberg has brought Michael Crichton’s novel to life. Two movie sequels and a decade of ‘development hell’ Jurassic World, the fourth instalment has finally open its doors to the public.
