Tid Bits | A Collection of Good Vibes

02.28.2019 – Independent self-published comicbooks fly below the radar that only few readers will come appreciate an original idea or mostly thematically a slice of life theme related to either the author or inspired from other people’s stories that they shared. Some may be thought provoking while others gravitate to how deep it is produced to capture a cult following.

There are more of these interesting stories that are out there that you may not know of, but are quite fascinating to merit a feature such as George Rex’s Tid Bits.

It’s originally an auto bio about the author and some loosely based from her ideas that she self-published through the help of her Patreon followers funding the product of the said book.

George Rex is just a pen name for Georgina Chadderton who is an artist based in Adelaide South Australia along with her partner Owen Heitmann.

Both talented artists are into comicbooks and had promote their artistry through their workshop that they organize every third Monday of the month called “Comics with Friends and Strangers” which I had the opportunity to attend these art gatherings held at the Box Factory.

Adelaide Life | Happenings Downtown

05.04.2018 – Another weekend is about to wrap up, and it was quite the busiest as the weather slowly get cold while still an autumn season. Before you know it, A LOT has happened these past few days that you can’t get to be part of. There are many events happening this weekend and you can’t be all over the place despite they’re within that time is of the essence that you have to make it count.

Friday is here, and the early mornings are always a hustle getting from one bus stop to the other to get to the other side passing through downtown. For some, this is crazy comminute though not taking things for granted that it is basically smoother compared to other developing countries that have to deal with excruciating ordeal every day.

Flippin' Pages | It Wasn't Duran Duran

12.12.2017 – Rarely I’ve been reading comics lately as I’m always out of the house of the time and when I’m home I’m doing something else. For a time I could have enough hours to read comic books with the exception of the stuff I got from friends back in the Philippines that I currently loaned to Ross of Greenlight Comics to try out the Filipino flavour of what some of the people I knew had to offer.

So basically I just browse pages these days whenever I have a chance to visit Greenlight, which that happened a few days ago after attending the last Comic Lovers and Creator’s Meet at Grace Emily Hotel and the Adelaide Ladies Comic Club to sort of ‘market” the aforementioned books and see what they think about some of the ones I have read like Gerry Alanguilan and Kevin Ray Valentino’s “Bakokak” or Budjette Tan, JB Tapia and Bow Guerrero’s sequel to the 2012 graphic hit Demon Dungeon aptly titled now as “Classificado.”

But I’ll save the personal review for Classificado and Doorkeeper in the next few weeks. For now, while I was at Greenlight Comics, I just happen to come across a book about “Duran Duran, Imelda Marcos, and ME” by Lorina Mapa, a Fil-Canadian who happens to publish this book early this year.
