Galerie Joaquin | Dragon Boats

“Dragon Boats” is the latest solo art show featuring Jomike Tejido, and this will be something really special for being the 20th time he goes out and brought the best of his craft from the paintings to each accompanying “art toy” that is one of one that is also having very intricate details with layers of storytelling in each creation.

It is one of Jomike’s massive creations culminating in decades of studying art through his own past works at the same time parallels being a children’s book author. His process and evolution are something to be admired and an absolute inspiration is beyond just being a contemporary artist. If you thought his past works were already grand, this one certainly strives to push the limits beyond what most already knew.

Jomike’s mastery of producing works of art in a short time is second to none but accompanies each of his painted works with handmade well-detailed intricate wooden sculptures that have their own level of detail at the same time tell a special narrative in them very original that no other artists have done before.

His works speak volumes for a soft-spoken individual who originally started doing comic strips about bugs and insects in broadsheets in his early formative years, Then he started working on children’s books as well as paper art that are vehicles that turn into robots, which are uncut inserts in a monthly kids' magazine may sound like nothing like a well-respected contemporary artist that he is today that sounds like an understatement.

Also, not to forget how he became a television presenter for a children’s show despite a short stint that teaches art, and at the same time inspires younger viewers would become internationally known in the contemporary art scene. He continues to learn from his journey to the world of art making the best of his craft and yet he is still the same soft-spoken and grounded individual who can be struck with a conversation.

The art pieces on his latest solo art show have been well received, and the evolution of his craft in making wooden sculptures are a step up from the days of making wooden animals with characters with detailed narratives encased with acrylic casing the same time have their own wooden carrying storage is a solid premium art toy.

This is definitely another home run for both Galerie Joaquin and Jomike with this premium presentation, and in case you haven’t seen it in person it is now currently being exhibited at the Bonifacio Global City gallery. It is highly best to see all of his works for yourself and see the exclusive individually made wooden handcrafted creations that certainly have their own stories to share.
