Arte Bettina | Tempus Fugit
The solo show titled “Tempus Fugit” in Latin means “Time Flies” which describes the menagerie of abstract art Paulina has ever produced. This was definitely something special that is on exhibit for a short time. But certainly, a casual individual will truly find themselves caught by the bug of curiosity.
This is not Paulina’s first time to have a solo as her passion to paint started at a very young age. This is her first solo show at Arte Bettina, which was successful based on the coloured dots on the paintings that have been sold out.
In case you missed out on the artist’s reception and opening of her solo show here are some of the images taken from the gallery…
Tribute to Lolo
Paulina’s solo show was definitely a tribute to her late Grandfather and she really put on the work in producing these impressive paintings. It was truly something to immerse in abstract art that conveys a lot of emotion in each frame. This was one of the best shows this artist has done so far that was underappreciated that was unnoticed by most people who pass through Greenbelt.
Each artwork is something to look into and appreciate the way it was made. It captures everything the artist learned from her mentor, namely her Grandfather and it was really a tribute to one of the greats to have put the country on the map through their passion for the arts and it was a privilege to see it.
Aboriginal Australian Elements
Before heading out of the gallery there was one painting that really caught my attention. For some, this might be nothing but a beautiful abstract painting of a city in black while the golden sun is way up there shining against a red backdrop as the sky surely appears like the Aboriginal Flag of Australia.
Years ago, back almost five years ago on a normal every day for someone who has not lived there, it would be nothing to notice just the things you’re doing around downtown. But a curious wide individual like me would certainly take a look at every finer detail of where I’m and what’s happening around me.
Of course, no one outside of Australia would even care to notice the Aboriginal Flag that flies side-by-side with the Australian Flag. But it matters to notice the red, black, and yellow that represent the First Nation of Australia, and that’s where Paulina Luz Sotto’s last painting I see brought back memories of life down south.
The artist probably did not intentionally or was unaware that she painted one of her works with the colours of the Aboriginal Flag, but it was truly remarkable and it was already sold when I saw it in person.
“Tempus Fugit” is the first solo art show featuring Paulina Luz Sotto that is already on exhibit, from 18 until 27 March 2023 at Arte Bettina Gallery. For more about other upcoming art shows, you can follow Arte Bettina on Social Media via Facebook and Instagram.
