FCBD 2024 | 2nd Round with Fully Booked

Free Comic Book Day is an annual gathering of fans, geeks, nerds, and those who can’t get enough of the world of fiction. For some, it is considered “Christmas in May.” It is celebrated every first Saturday of this month. However, since Fully Booked in 2009, they have been organizing this event on the second Saturday instead of what was an intended celebration since 2003. In the Philippines, FCBD goes back to the early days, and it’s not Comic Odyssey that started their tradition, which was in 2007. For Fully Booked, it was always the second Saturday until they collaborated with Comic Odyssey from 2013 to 2019, and for the last time in 2023. This year is a fresh restart for Fully Booked,

TransSportShow | Classic Cars & Then Some

It’s been a while since another local car show happened, and this one is up there as most auto tuners look forward to going aside from the usual event that presents the latest models out there. Rarely, I’ve been going to these shows since the last quarter of 2022 as most annual events have been nearly absent in the last two years. The Trans Sport Show is one of those car events that just happened, and I can recall going to the first one as far back as almost 15 years ago. This event has been around long enough, but I haven’t been to it for quite a while despite the organizers also being the same company that had the Manila Auto Salon from last year.

11.15.2019 – The Manila Auto Salon together with the Sports Truck Show is another big event the general public can check it out this weekend. The event this year brings out the best and the brightest tuned cars, custom trucks, and inviting you to appreciate anything and everything about the automotive scene. On its thirteenth year the Manila Auto Salon is again teaming up with Sport Truck Show, which has been organizing this event on its twenty-fifth year. The gallery of impressive cars that you don’t see regularly in Metro Manila roads is going to be on display here for all its shiniest glory that will surely get your attention.

Komiket 2019 | Blissful Chaotic Vibes

02.18.2019 – In the Philippines every weekend there’s an event happening it is a music festival, an art show, or anything that is related to the local industry that has something to do with comics. Komikon pioneered in making local komiks relevant and it evolved that introduced other things connected to it namely merchandise like shirts, pins, and prints. But mostly that event focused solely in promoting the Komiks medium while the rest is secondary. But with the introduction of Komiket it’s more of an Art Market that has produced a different kind of community since its inception in 2015. It caters not only to the komiks medium, but all things that can be produced and sold through art that simply stands out with what Komiket has to offer.

Manila Auto Salon | The Cars, People, & Culture

12.02.2018 – If you live in a densely populated area there’s not much space to go around when you’re into cars mainly the fast ones. The culture in this place is different from being used to reside in the same type of environment only way better. Usually, whenever you’re into motoring that means there are regular car meets not closed to a specific type of community. But since you live in a very crowded place it’s understandable that this type of community becomes exclusive to a specific brand, make, or model of the vehicle that is popularly known. So car meets are not as generally open to the public that is where cars show like the Manila Auto Salon becomes that place where everyone can have the opportunity to see everything about the automotive culture.

Bunnings Trade Expo | One-Stop Event

05.24.2018 – Bunnings Warehouse is a well-known Household Hardware chain that has been around since 1887, but only expanded its branches in the 1990s. It's currently the go-to place for anything that you plan for you DIY (Do It Yourself). The company has branches all over Australia, New Zealand, UK, and Ireland. Its one of the biggest hardware stores in Australia that whenever you think of buying something for the house like lightbulb replacement or need to fix a doorknob that a drive to Bunnings is the next best thing. They also have an event called Bunnings Expo a mini tradeshow held annually.

FCBD 2013: The Wild Perspective

05.05.2013 – The stories at Free Comic Book Day had a huge impact on a lot of people. Now it depends what kind of individuals think of the annual event that started with Comic Odyssey and with Fully Booked in 2008. Arguably the best single event when everyone got the chance to take some comic books home absolutely FREE. But what makes this event so big in the Philippines that a lot would line up as early as 1AM just to get first dibs on your favorite title? Everyone all over the world knows it’s a promotional event to bring old and readers but there are others who completely don’t know what it really meant to some who just appreciate meeting new people.

04.01.2013 –It was one hot Sunday afternoon that culminated with the searing heat. All I wanted was to get the chance in seeing Jars of Clay live even just for a distance. But it was unexpected that the turn of events would change how I celebrated Easter Sunday. As early as 1PM I was already prepared set my cameras (EOS 60D & PowerShot A480) ready. All charged up and I was definitely prepared for the distance if I’ll get to be positioned farther than I would end up with. But then again this was my good friend’s day. It was Tedi V’s so called “moment of reflection.”
