Ted Lasso | "Do the Right-est Thing"
There’s a connective tissue when the opening scene began when Sam Obisanya becomes the new face of Dubai Air, and the team’s principal sponsor that appears on their jersey. At the same time, Rebecca has a visitor in her Goddaughter that she hasn’t seen in a long time that she tries to connect with.
While Ted deals with having the longest tie in football history the narrative shifts through the other characters of the series starting with Jamie’s return and how the team was unresponsive to his affection due to his behavior and bullying from last season after he left the team.
Certainly, there’s drama right there but not as heavy as forced that you see in most shows. This one is light hearted ‘family oriented’ kind of season that some things are not just about football or any sport, but it’s about the people who make the narrative feel relatable to how everyone deals with their choices and how others react to it.
Rebecca takes an advice to a now retired Roy Kent in her approach in taking care of her goddaughter than trying to praise her with childish nothings. Roy Kent himself was blunt and never tried to be someone else for the reason he had a new job as one of the panelist on a sports show with his blunt language was absolutely mint.
With that advice Rebecca brings Nora and ‘shadows’ her in the day-to-day operation of the team and slowly reconnects with her, where Sam told her about Dubai Air’s corporate owner is dumping pollution to his home country in Nigeria. This prompts her to try to reach out and inform the later that Sam has quit in becoming the face of Dubai Air at the same time takes an advice from her goddaughter to stand firm.
At the same time Keeley brings Jamie to Sharon their recently hired sports psychologist in helping him get back to making the team show a little respect to him. Everything comes together on the AFC Richmond’s match how things wrap up despite breaking the tie streak with the lost still standing shoulder-to-shoulder how the elements of family what used to be just another football team makes this quite a show.
Overall another Ted Lasso goal to keep you entertained with the light hearted narrative ever relatable and great writing team that made this series a must-watched on your stream. It’s only the third episode and things are starting to keep you glued in what’s going to happen next, which is now streaming exclusively on Apple TV!
