Random Snaps | Passing Through Little Tokyo

01.06.2020 – It has been a while but passing through “Little Tokyo” in the City of Makati was a breeze and it was intentional as to pass the hour before a meeting appointment was pushed to an extra hour. It was unexpected and there was nothing much to do on a Sunday as the weekend is slowly winding down from the Holidays.

Definitely, the week is starting to build up again to its ‘normal’ pace as those who spent the Holidays in rural areas and prefectures are coming back. Monday will be here soon, but what can a bloke do?

Strolling around the tiny places like “Little Tokyo” doesn’t need an exposition and this is just breezing through the area.

I’ve been to this place a couple of times, but never had dined in to its resident food establishments. Whenever a mention of “Little Tokyo” my thoughts before is it might have little specialty shops or others things to see aside from the wine and dine concept. But that has been dashed with disappointment a long time ago.

It has probably the best authentic Japanese cuisine that they had to offer, but that is all about the place restaurants and food establishments. I was hoping Japanese convenience stores a place where you can find hidden gems of random collectibles that no place where you can find it similar to how Adelaide had Shin Tokyo, but that’s not a place rather a shop that caters to anything Japanese popular culture from Anime, Manga, Robots and event Japanese Transformers.

There have been six “Little Tokyo” in the Philippines as documented by Primer, but the most accessible one is in the City of Makati. It is ‘home’ away from Japanese expats living in this country. It might not be as what most expected, but it is a place to try and have a taste of Japan.

Although the photos do not show justice on the place, it is just a random time just passing through the area to glimpse if possible changes or something ‘new’ in this place. But personally there wasn’t any eye catching gem though it is a great dinning place to bring friends or family not based in the Philippines.

It took me less than 5 minutes to go through the area just checking what to see and mostly restaurants and nothing much than a quick look around to pass the time, but the images can give you already an idea of what the compound looks like, for now.

Little Tokyo Garden Makati is located at 2277 Chino Roces Ave, Pasong Tamo Corner Amorsolo Street, Makati, Legazpi Village, Makati. For more about the food establishments and other details follow on Social Media via Facebook!
